RCIA FORMATION DAY
FORMING CHRISTIANS IN CHANGING TIMES
Who is the conference for?
This conference is offered as a means of on-going formation for parish initiation teams: catechists, sponsors, pastors, members of liturgy committees and all who are engaged in the process of Christian initiation with adults. It is highly recommended that the whole parish initiation team participate in this day of formation and renewal.
Conference Focus:
Forming Christians in Changing Times We live in interesting times. If we listen to the media we get an impression that in Canada, we have stopped believing in God, given up on praying and that experiences of God are rare to non-existent.
The evidence suggests something very different. Most Canadians have become “spiritual seekers” of answers to the big questions about purpose and suffering and life after death. God is all over the place and Canadians are not only talking to God, they are convinced that they are experiencing God.
But..., increasingly this is happening for more and more people without the Church. Why?
There are many answers and we will explore some of them during this day of study.
What is the new cultural reality in which we live and from which seekers come to be involved in the Christian community? How do we minister in this new culture? Who are these seekers and what is it they are looking for? What are we doing to respond to their questions and needs?
Where and When?
